Men also return to Flachau, the scene of the last women's slalom of the World Cup, nine years after the 2011 race won by Ivica Kostelic (previously, Tomba in 1996 and Rocca in 2004 also managed to triumph in the Salzburg region).
At Hermann Maier's home there is a double slalom, the fifth and sixth of the season, with today's one representing the recovery of the canceled race in Wengen; it starts at 9.30 with the 1st heat, on a Slovenian layout, while at 12.30 there will be the decisive one based on a Norwegian design. Weather conditions and track ok, the opening will be entrusted to two Swiss, with Yule and Zenhaeusern called to redeem, starting before Linus Strasser (bib 3) and Marco Schwarz (col 5), or the second and first of the ranking of specialties, just like their positions in the last slalom of Adelboden. The prediction, as always, is really wide open with Noel and Kristoffersen (numbers 6 and 7) who have to send an important signal, even if perhaps this slope is not exactly the ideal to enhance their technical characteristics.

Italy relies on rising star Alex Vinatzer for a great result, starting with the number 15 and returning from the two forks of Zagreb and Adelboden. After the Val Gardena we find Moelgg (21), Maurberger (25), Gross (28) and Razzoli (30) in the top 30 of the startlist, followed by the attempt to enter the 2nd heat for Liberatore (39), Sala (40), Tonetti (52) and the returning member of the CdM, Hans Vaccari who will have bib number 60.
