After Zagreb, the men's World Cup will stop in Switzerland for giant and slalom on January 8-9: as anticipated yesterday, the FIS has formalized the new renunciation of the women's stage in Maribor, only the announcement for the return is missing in Kranjska Gora.

As we had written on Wednesday evening, the Slovenian stage that was supposed to host giant and women's slalom on the next 8 and 9 January, must raise the white flag again this year (it competed for the last time on Pohorje in 2019) due to high temperatures and negative forecasts for the next few days as well.
The FIS will formalize the recoveries shortly, but everything will be done to compete again in Kranjska Gora, as happened in the last two seasons (and also in 2018).
In the meantime, and it was not taken for granted given that the weather situation is similar in Switzerland as well, today's snow control has given the green light to the great classic of the men's circuit on the Chuenisbargli in Adelboden: Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January (heats always set at 10.30 and 13.30), giant and slalom in the Swiss temple, which returns to the "classic", or with two technical tests after hosting a double giant and a slalom in 2021, respectively won by Alexis Pinturault, dominant in both appointments between wide doors, and Marco Schwarz who launched himself towards the final success in the specialty cup.
