The Austrian Marco Schwarz signed the best time in the slalom valid for the combined Wengen.

The twenty-three of Carinthia, one of the few pure slalomists at the start, has put in line all those disputing a clean run but without taking particular risks. Schwarz in fact has closed the command with a rather limited margin on the main contenders, including the highly favored Alexis Pinturault who is in second place just 20 cents from the summit.
The Frenchman also confirmed on this occasion that he had found the right drivers in the slalom, finding himself now in the ideal situation to return to success after more than two years since the last World Cup triumph.
Third position for another transalpine, Muffat-Jeandet detached of 87 cents from Schwarz, fourth Ligety to 1 "20, fifth the Russian Trikhichev, sixth position to 1" 60 for the Swiss Mauro Caviezel who turned out to be the best of pure downhill skiers to the other sprinter Mermillod Blondin. These two seem to be the two main suspects to recover some position during the descent.
