Weather at risk for the Hinterstoder Alpine combined: first slalom, then super-g

On Friday at 10 the start with the test between the narrow posts, Tonetti will start in the first group, while Kristoffersen could pay dearly the reversal.

It will not be an easy weekend from the weather point of view and here, already on the eve of the third and last Alpine combined of the men's World Cup season, an important novelty arrives decided by Markus Waldner and his staff. In fact, tomorrow in Hinterstoder, the slalom and then the super-g race will take place, for a crucial race in the race for the crystal ball; the start at 10 on Friday with the test between the narrow poles, then at 13.30 the heats of speed, with more time available to prepare the track since in the next few hours the "White" storm is expected in Upper Austria. What changes? It is clear that Alexis Pinturault (the very favorite to win the specialty cup), Riccardo Tonetti himself (2nd in the specialty WCSL) and also Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, in the first group in combined, will start in the slalom and will not have the Super-G placement problem, which could have brought technical skiers a long way back. On the other hand, Henrik Kristoffersen's race could become difficult, abundantly out of the 30 in WCSL (he only has 5 points) and therefore forced to start in the rear in the slalom, as perhaps it would have happened even if he played the super-g first, but almost certainly with a position best.
