On Saturday and Sunday in Chamonix two more slaloms of a World Cup will be staged increasingly in the hands of Alexis Pinturault, also on the podium in the last two races between the narrow posts, if we talk about the general classification, and with Marco Schwarz on the run for what it's about discipline. After last Tuesday's triumph in Schladming, the Carinthian will try again on the "Verte des Houches" which will host the first test tomorrow, with start of the 1st heat at 9.30 am and the 2nd at 12.30 (Austrian and Croatian track, live on TV on Eurosport and Rai Sport).
Red bib with number 5, in a race opened by Ramon Zenhaeusern, followed by Pinturault himself and Manuel Feller, who instead wants to forget the night of Schladming where he threw away the possible success after dominating the first heat on the Planai. Henrik Kristoffersen will have number 4, he who resoundedly came out in Chamonix in the slalom of 12 months ago, while sweet memories of the home race have indeed some Clément Noel (bib 6 tomorrow), who in fact won last 8 February.
The transalpine, second to Schladming, hasn't won since that day and has a keen desire to break free, but he will have to be careful, especially on a podium that is not too complicated like that of the "Verte", to a Sebastian Foss-Solevaag in great condition and which will follow him in the starting order with the number 7. After Khoroshilov, Matt, Strasser (who made a lot of mistakes in the last races) and Meillard, here is the 12 of Alex Vinatzer, first of the seven blues at the start and called to save the second sub-group also and above all in view of Cortina 2021.
Those in Chamonix will obviously be the decisive races for the world selections: in Italy the Val Gardena, Moelgg and Gross are practically certain of the place, but a fourth bib remains available. In Saturday's slalom, captain Manni will start with 19 to do even better than Schladming's 8th place, "Sabo" with 28 and Maurberger and Razzoli, respectively with bibs 29 and 31, will be practically fighting at a distance. on the world championship.
There will be, as initially expected, Tobias Kastlunger (in addition to the announced forfeit of Federico Liberatore, again suffering from back pain before Schladming), while Tommaso Sala will go in search of the third qualification of the season starting with 39, and Riccardo Tonetti will return to slalom, after having skipped Schladming, to find the first top 30 (bib 55 for the Bolzano player).
