Odermatt at the helm of Switzerland for Rettenbach: eighth bib assigned to Nef

The eight rossocrociati have been chosen for the opening of the World Cup in Soelden, while the women's team will be defined only once the knot concerning Wendy Holdener has been solved.

Marco Odermatt will lead the Swiss-Ski men's team for the first giant of the 2020/21 World Cup scheduled for next Sunday in Soelden. The Swiss federsci has formalized the names of the eight athletes competing on the Rettenbach in seven days: the Nidwalden talent will be the lighthouse, but from the world top 15 here are Gino Caviezel and Loic Meillard on whom the focus is a lot. Also expected is the return to high levels of Justin Murisier, who will be in the race as well as Cédric Noger, Thomas Tumler and Daniele Sette, back from a first real season with continuity (and excellent results) in the maximum circuit. The eighth bib was awarded, at the end of an internal qualification staged in Diavolezza, to an emerging slalomist like Tanguy Nef, who in Soelden will compete only for the second time in a giant of CdM. The women's training will be discovered, however, only at the beginning of the week since the knot tied to Wendy Holdener remains to untie, recovering from the injury to the head of the fibula in September and still in very strong doubt, still having to put the skis back on after almost six weeks in the pits.
