Almost three weeks after Bormio, it is Wengen who hosts the second Alpine men's combined, crucial hub for many in the race for the World Cup and first test of the legendary Lauberhorn triptych which will continue on Saturday with the descent and Sunday with the slalom.
If Alexis Pinturault is the natural favorite for the encore on Friday after the triumph over the Stelvio, with the combination of a run of descent (albeit shortened with a start just above the Hundschopf, as tradition in the Swiss combined) at slalom, in turn, however, soon on the track that will host the single specialty race on Sunday, even sprinters will be able to play important chances.
Starting from Dominik Paris and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, coincidentally the first two pursuers (in reverse order) of Kristoffersen and Pinturault in the general cup classification that can see the French come back ahead; "Domme" will start in the run of descent, scheduled at 10.30, with the bib number 20.
