Bormio is ready to host the latest jets, in what will be the last round of the 2020 World Cup.
On Monday 28 the descent on the Stelvio, on Tuesday 29 the super-g, again at 11.30, even if the weather does not promise anything good for the first day of competition (with a lot of snow arriving already Sunday night). For now we continue with the established program, so on Saturday at 11.30 here is the first of the two tests towards the descent, which will be the third of the season after Val d''Isère and Val Gardena.
And there is a great desire for redemption in Italy, with all the lights clearly focused on the King of the Stelvio: Dominik Paris has won six times here, five of which downhill, and right in Valtellina he has a huge chance to be reborn definitively after the injury, from which he still returned with good sensations, beyond the results that perhaps do not say everything about the performances of the South Tyrolean champion (especially as regards the descent of Val d''Isère).
"Domme" will have bib n ° 11 for tomorrow's test, which will be opened by Mauro Caviezel, soon followed by compatriot Beat Feuz, who, choosing first, opted for 3. Before Paris there will also be Christof Innerhofer (winner of the Bormio descent in 2008), bib number 6, after a lot of Austria with Kriechmayr and Mayer, but above all Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (bib 17), who will take the measures to then look for the consecutive trio after the extraordinary double from Val Gardena.
Marco Odermatt and Alexis Pinturault, the other contenders for the "coppone" will also be tested on Saturday, even if the Swiss will also make the descent, while the Frenchman will only compete in the super-g (with internal selection among the transalpina for the descent ).
Nine blues on the track, with Buzzi and Marsaglia bibs 34 and 35 for tomorrow, Tonetti (who will make the super-g) with 40, Cazzaniga with 43, Gugu Bosca with 60, Schieder with 63 and, 66th starting of the 68 entered, the Bormino Pietro Zazzi who, right on his home track, should then make his debut in the World Cup on Monday's downhill.
