Alpine Combined World Championship: the French best time on Kriechmayr and Mayer, but the Carinthian is fourth with just over 3 tenths of a second and will play for gold. Aerni and Meillard eligible for the podium, for Tonetti good heat but he is behind all rivals and will start ninth in slalom.

A sumptuous Alexis Pinturault already in front of everyone in super-g, but a very open fight also for the gold medal which still sees the reigning champion as the favorite.
It is a really beautiful world combination, even at the male level, the one that will be decided from 3.10 pm with the Rumerlo zone slalom run. On the Olympia delle Tofane, which had hosted the girls on the same track (and think that Federica Brignone and the other great protagonists arrived just over 2 seconds from Pinturault's time ...), the transalpine already bronze in super -g, but on "Vertigo", yet the fight for the world title is far from decided, given that Marco Schwarz in particular can scare the 29 year old from Courchevel.
Behind Kriechmayr and Mayer, respectively 22 and 24 cents away from Pinturault, there is in fact the third Austrian, only 32 cents and with the enormous quality in slalom (and a perfect bib, or 4) capable of play it and how.
But be careful, given that the Swiss squadron is also in full swing: Loic Meillard is 5th, 35 cents from Pinturault, one tenth ahead of 2017 world champion Luca Aerni, who we know very well how fit he is between the tight posts and he played an amazing super-g, with Gino Caviezel (7th at 48 cents) for whom the task will be much harder.
And in ninth position, just behind the German sprinter Jocher, here is the only blue hope for a medal: Riccardo Tonetti closes just 6 tenths from the top, but it will be very hard for the podium dream even if another top-level finish is close for the player from Bolzano, which largely precedes a series of sprinters. Basically, after his descent the race will be substantially already over, with the new formula (introduced last season) which does not provide for the inversion.

Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
