Levi's race could represent the first direct clash between Alexis Pinturault and Henrik Kristoffersen, considering that in the giant of Soelden the two were very distant.
The Frenchman triumphed over the Rettenbach for the second consecutive time after 2016 (and the cancellations of the two successive editions of the Coppa opening), the Norwegian instead only finished in 18th place.
On paper, however, it is Kristoffersen who starts off with the prediction favors in a test like the Finnish one, on a track that has always exalted the 25-year-old from Loerenskog; for its part, Pinturault did very well among the rapid gates last season and, to pursue the dream of the World Cup, will have to "contain" the direct rival in this specialty.
The Savoyard trained during the weekend on the snow of the Pass Thurn, in the Kitzbuehel area, after having chosen a few days more rest than his teammates (and showing off a new goatee), with the transalpian slalomists who prepared in recent days in Tignes, before moving to Scandinavia.
Kristoffersen, on the other hand, performed some physical tests (already planned) at the Red Bull center in Salzburg, before heading off towards Finland to test the "Black Levi" on which he already won in 2014.
