Alexis Pinturault has a very clear goal in his head, that absolute crystal ball for which he put a brick with the inaugural success of Soelden.
It is no coincidence that the transalpine champion has decided also for this season, after having opted for this choice last winter, to settle for the whole period of races in the Salzburg, a few km from the possible, great rival for the Cup, Henrik Kristoffersen , and of that Marcel Hirscher who left him free road to crown the great dream and with whom he also shared some dinner outings, in the company of the respective wives who, apparently, are very good friends.
Romane Pinturault, whom Alexis married two years ago, is the press officer and coordinator of a team that now follows the 28-year-old from Courchevel as a shadow: as on the occasion of the Monday night TV show, which saw the winner of Soelden in the Hangar-7 studios at the Salzburg airport, for the classic weekly talk by Servus TV which, with the presence of Anna Veith herself, was almost completely dedicated to the opening of the great ski season .
Alexis has performed in a good German, a language that he has decided to learn for a year now, "because in our environment it is fundamental for having relationships with the many people around you". Another small sign of the professionalism of an athlete who now all indicate as the main favorite for the "coppone", even if Pinturault has tried to take off some pressure ... "It is clear, without Marcel we all have greater beware of before and you have to know how to manage this aspect too, but it is important to have started well - explained the Savoyard - It is also true that Soelden is only a race, many things can change and many opponents will get in shape and have many possibilities in a season so long and with so many trials â€.
Pinturault went into the specifics of his performance on the Rettenbach: "I made two solid heats, on a track that I like. I could have done something better in the end of the first, while the second one was very good and I can say I'm satisfied, beyond the result that obviously makes the difference. Now we will have to be good at working from various points of view, considering that Levi's slalom will propose a completely different scenario and then we will have the trip to North America â€.
