The Saslong is ready to host the jet men, one year after Aleksander Aamodt Kilde's double in the Norwegian fiefdom represented by the splendid Val Gardena.
And he will be the winner of the 2019/2020 World Cup, in the meantime passed from the injury to the crusader last January but able to return immediately to rejoice with two masterpieces in Beaver Creek, in the last stage of speed, the main favorite for the super-g on Friday and the descent on Saturday.
The Gardena event will start already on Wednesday, at 11.45 am, with the first of the two tests towards the third seasonal descent, after the cancellation of the last appointment in Colorado which is still looking for a place on the calendar.
For Norway it will be the first race weekend without Kjetil Jansrud, who ended his season prematurely, while on Saturday we won't even see Marco Odermatt, who will focus on Friday's super-g and won't even compete in the two trainings. To open tomorrow's one will be Max Franz (among the candidates for success for the descent on the Saslong), followed by Bennett and his compatriot Matthias Mayer, red bib after 1st and 2nd place between Lake Louise and Beaver Creek.
They chose slightly higher numbers, as often happens in Val Gardena also for a matter of visibility, Kriechmayr with 9 and Feuz with 13, but also Dominik Paris who, as fourth in the WCSL, opted for 17 and will be the second blue at the gate after Christof Innerhofer (14), who in turn will precede Kilde (15).
There will be selection at home France, Austria and Switzerland, the only national teams with double figures of registered athletes, but also among Ghidoni's blues, given that there are 9 candidates for 7 places both in super-g and for the descent.
In addition to Domme and Inner, we will see Matteo Marsaglia, exalted by the 4th place in Beaver Creek albeit in a very different technical context, with bib 31, then Buzzi with 34 and Casse with 36, before Bosca (49) , Molteni (63), Zazzi (67) and the rookie Matteo Franzoso (n ° 73), who dreams of the first World Cup in the super-g on Friday, he who has just won his first European Cup race in that discipline.
