The coming hours will be decisive in determining whether Odermatt will fly to Chile with his speed-event teammates

After withdrawing from the first part of the South American camp and delaying the start by at least a week due to a muscle injury, the Nidwalden star is confident he can make it in time to work with Monney, von Allmen, Rogentin and the other members of the national team.

The coming hours will be decisive, even though the start of the season in Soelden is still 50 days away and the first speed races are even further off (more than a month away, with the season reaching late November in Copper Mountain), in determining whether Marco Odermatt will fly to Chile for the training camp. The camp is particularly important for working on the downhill, which was effectively “scrapped” this summer because of the conditions on the home glacier for the Swiss, the Theodul Glacier in Zermatt-Cervinia.

There is no concern about the condition of the Buochs star, although the minor muscle injury revealed by Swiss-Ski six days ago forced “Odi” to withdraw from at least the first week of preparation on South American snow, as he was supposed to depart last Monday.

The possibility of travelling to El Colorado and La Parva from September 7 is concrete (following the “Blick” report, which we reported HERE), allowing him to train for three weeks alongside the speed team, from von Allmen to Monney and from Rogentin to Miggiano, in the ski area where the Italian team will also soon arrive.
