Almost a year later, from that December 19 2018 in which in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Roberto Nani disputed his last giant in the World Cup.
Four races without points, a crisis that seemed endless and in spring also the exclusion from the national cadres for the 2019/2020 season: the Livignasco did not give up and, at 31, presented itself at the Australian New Zealand Cup to train and get points, trusting at least in one place in the European Cup.
He found it for the two inaugural giants of Trysil and immediately hit it: 4th place on the first day, podium in the second race with the third place behind Tommaso Sala. And so, in the weekend (hoping to compete against the expected bad weather) of Val d''Isère, Nani will return to wear a bib in the World Cup.
Missing only the official, waiting after training that the national team of Roberto Saracco, fresh from the disappointing giant of Beaver Creek (only De Aliprandini, 14th, and Zingerle went to points), will support from Wednesday to Sestriere; on the slopes of the Vialattea, in addition to the group of Italian slalomists, there will be Manfred Moelgg, Luca De Aliprandini, Riccardo Tonetti, Simon Maurberger, Andrea Ballerin (who has a permanent position in the World Cup), Hannes Zingerle himself, Giovanni Borsotti and precisely the livignasco.
Compared to the eight deployed in Colorado, Borsotti and Nani (who particularly love the Face de Bellevarde) will be chosen in place of Dominik Paris, who will clearly rest in view of Val Gardena, and Giulio Bosca.
