The Austrian downhill skier was injured by falling in a giant session in Saas-Fee: he has already been operated on in Innsbruck and will be there for the start of the speed season.

An injury that is not too serious and that should not cost participation in the first races scheduled for his 2020/21 World Cup, but certainly the season did not start in the best way for Daniel Danklmaier.
The Wunderteam sprinter fell during a work session in Saas-Fee dedicated to the giant: the diagnosis revealed an injury to the meniscus of his right knee, already operated on yesterday evening at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck. For the 27-year-old Styrian the stop will vary from four to six weeks, however, allowing him to train already by the end of October and therefore with a good margin towards the first fast races of the next cup, at this point moved to the weekend of 12-13 December in Val d''Isère.
Danklmaier is back from a good season in terms of continuity, often close to the top ten with three twelfth places obtained, the last of which in the final race of Kvitfjell (downhill). His best finish in the maximum circuit remains 5th place in the Kitzbuehel descent in January 2019.
