Daniel Danklmaier is an Austrian speed specialist with a particular focus on downhill. Born in 1993 in Styria, he has posted numerous top-ten finishes in the World Cup and enjoyed a real breakthrough in the 2021–22 season, delivering high-level results on classic tracks such as Wengen, Kitzbühel, Kvitfjell and the finals in Courchevel. In 2022 his progress was interrupted by a serious knee injury suffered in training, which required a long layoff but did not prevent him from returning to competitive form in the following seasons. Danklmaier is valued for his very clean and centered style, combining glide and courage in the fastest sections of the course. His presence further strengthens the already deep Austrian squad in downhill and super-G.
