The first test on the Stelvio saw four national team standard bearers in the first eleven positions. Their reactions and those of the big favorites, Kilde and Odermatt.

Blue smiles arriving from Bormio, scene today of the first of the two trainings (Tuesday the encore starting at 11.30, same time for the races on Wednesday and Thursday) towards the descent which, 48 hours, will see the jet men as protagonists on the "Stelvio".
Christof Innerhofer precedes everyone on the track that gave him his first World Cup triumph 14 years ago, but Mattia Casse is also brilliant, 7th at 97 cents from his teammate, Pietro Zazzi, 9th at 1”11 on his home track , he from Bormio doc, and Dominik Paris, 11th at 1”17 with some positive signs in his reign, where he triumphed seven times overall (six downhill).

Dominik Paris reacted like this after race number 1: “I'd say it went quite well, especially in some sections. The track was so choppy and quite fast, I haven't been used to these conditions lately. The snow? It's warm, a little wetter but there's a lot of grip. Overall it was a good test. I still have to fix something but the sensations weren't bad at all".
Mattia Casse, fresh from the podium on the Saslong, is convinced he can do very well here too: “Having changed materials, I was curious to see their performance in conditions like these. I was a little hesitant but instead they went well. I'm definitely solid in skiing, the Stelvio is always tough. The conditions for doing well are there, I'll try to place another paw."
Matteo Marsaglia, just out of 15, added: “As usual, the Stelvio is tough and demanding, just the way we like it. With number 1 it wasn't easy, I started with the right respect. Perfect track and this is the best we have encountered so far in the World Cup. And if the temperature drops by a few degrees, things will only improve in view of the race".
Words, through the organizing committee, also to Marco Odermatt and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde who got up completely in the final, but immediately seemed fast. “The track is always difficult here in Bormio, it's uneven and with these higher than usual temperatures it will be even more... uneven - analyzed the owner of the CdM general classification - I'm ready for the win, but so are all the others and as usual it will be a battle”.
“This is the Stelvio, always difficult - commented the Norwegian downhill leader - Today more approachable, even if the lines were quite clear, I feel ready for the race. I started this season in good shape, I feel good and I'm ready to look for another success”.
