Stockholm last stop before alpine skiing before the World Cup

The last race of the Alpine Ski World Cup before the World Championships in St. Moritz will be the Event City Stockholm.

Stockholm has already organized several events of the World Cup winter sports, the "Royal Palace Sprint" cross-country skiing in six editions of Big Air snowboarding. Since last year, thanks to an artificial track located in the heart of the Swedish capital, also arrived alpine skiing. The regulation is already used in past seasons and is valid for both men and women are entitled to participate in the best 12 of the WCSL Slalom as the best 4 not included among them the General WCSL; in case of forfeit, the vacancy shall be filled by compatriot that follows in its qualifying standings. The 16 participants will be paired according to their ranking Slalom (the first with the sixteenth, the second with the fifteenth and so on) and placed in a tennis-style board. For each round the contestants will compete in two runs long about twenty seconds, who gets the amount of time children go to the next round, if the output will be assigned a run time of 50 cents higher than the opponent. In the only edition of the City Event in Stockholm, among men the victory of Marcel Hirscher in front of Andre Myhrer and Stefano Gross, among women rather successful Wendy Holdener Frida Hansdotter and Maria Pietilä Holmner. Considered all five City Event so far played, the specialist number one seems to be Hirscher World Cup, it imposed even in Moscow in 2013 and second in Monaco of Bavaria again in 2013 to 2 wins and 3 podiums. Among the girls instead of five different winners in five races, with Veronika Velez Zuzulova, Maria Pietilä Holmner and Tina Maze only 2 podiums: the Slovak was first in Monaco and second in Moscow in 2013, the Swedish first at Monaco in 2011 and as mentioned third in Stockholm twelve months ago, while the Slovenian boasts double honor both obtained in Monaco in 2011 and in 2013. The City Event in Stockholm, last race of the World Cup before the World Championships in St. Moritz will be held Tuesday, January 31. The challenges will begin from 17:00.
