FIS slalom off to Kronplatz: Duerr-Hilzinger and Del Campo-Salarich, double for Germany and Spain

The two German specialists dominate the women's race, with Haller, Midali and Insam in the top ten. Anger Saccardi, out on the most beautiful in the men's slalom that sees Bendotti close 6th.

Two excellent FIS slaloms, those staged today on the snows of Plan de Corones, with Germany and Spain braces, first among the girls and then in the men's event. Kronplatz which, we recall, on January 26 2021 will return to host the Women's World Cup with the splendid giant on the "Erta", today opened its two days (tomorrow two more slaloms, also valid for the national championships of San Marino) with Lena Duerr and Jessica Hilzinger to dominate the women's slalom. The two German athletes, divided by 6 tenths in favor of the 29-year-old Bavarian already winner in the World Cup (in the parallel of Moscow in January 2013), were accompanied on the podium by another athlete with great experience in the maximum circuit, that is Resi Stiegler finished third with two full seconds behind Duerr. The many blue at the start were still able to bring home good results: another good placement for Celina Haller, the best with fifth place, then in sixth there is Roberta Midali and the third Italian in the top ten is Vivien Insam, eighth and ready like her colleagues for the two European Cup slaloms scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Valle Aurina. The men's race, on the other hand, left Tommaso Saccardi many regrets: still the great protagonist was the Emilian talent, second at the end of the first heat, 23 cents from the Croatian Samuel Kolega, before coming out on the best in the second. And so came the Iberian one-two made up of athletes with some experience such as Juan Del Campo (5th halfway through the race) and Joaquim Salarich, the latter beaten by his compatriot for 18 cents. On the podium, ex aequo with a gap of 75 cents, also the German David Ketterer and the Austrian Simon Rueland. A couple of tenths behind Kolega himself, in the end forced to settle for fifth place, here is the best blue in the standings with Matteo Bendotti 6th (1 ”06 from Del Campo), while in the top ten we also find Andrea Ballerin, eighth , and Hans Vaccari who finished in ninth place.
