AOC between the past and the future, given that already on Thursday 4 June the Council of the FISI Western Alps Committee will be called to examine and ratify the proposals of the Alpine Ski Technical Commission for the composition of the regional teams for the 2020/2021 season. The Commission has proposed to include Edoardo Saracco (Equipe Limone), Leonardo Rigamonti (Sci Club Sansicario Cesana), Marco Abbruzzese (Fiamme Oro Moena), Lorenzo Thomas Bini (Ski Team Cesana), Corrado Barbera (Ski College Limone) in the men's regional team. , Carlo Cordone (Equipe Limone) and Davide Damanti (Sci Club Sansicario Cesana). The 2004 Regional Athletes Interest Team should include Gregorio Bernardi (Ski Club Sestriere), Fabio Allasina (Ski College Limone) and Luigi Graziano (Equipe Limone). Unfortunately, at the end of a season which was cut short by the blocking of competitions at the beginning of March, the consultant for Alpine skiing, Maurizio Poncet, and the coach of the men's team Marco Gullino, drew a positive balance of the commitment of the Western Alps athletes in the Italian Grand Prix, despite some injuries that have deprived the team of important players. Marco Abbruzzese and Edoardo Saracco participated in the Youth Winter Olympic Games, in which the team athlete from Limone won the bronze medal in slalom. Saracco was in the first year of FIS competitions and obtained first five placements in stages of the institutional circuit, closing the ranking of Aspirants in fourth place. Lorenzo Thomas Bini also did very well, having risen several times on the podium and finished third in the general classification of the Grand Prix Italy, sixth in that of the technical disciplines and first in that of the Aspirants. Corrado Barbera, despite a mid-season drop, scored well in institutional and other FIS competitions. Stefano Cordone, in the last year in the Youth category, has brought home good results in some situations. Leonardo Rigamonti, aggregated to the first year among the Aspirants, has shown to keep up with the growing institutional competitions in all disciplines. In the women's field, the Commission's proposal is to include Martina Sacchi (Golden Team Ceccarelli), Chiara Teroni (Mondolè Ski Team), Martina Banchi (Golden Team Ceccarelli), Giulia Currado Vietti (Sci Club Val Vermenagna) in the Women's Regional Team Gaia Blangero (Equipe Limone) and Vittoria Castellano (Sci Club Sauze d'Oulx). The Regional Team Atlete Interesse 2004 should include Maria Sole Antonini (Sci Club Varallo) and Matilde Lorenzi (Sci Club Sestriere), while the Aggregate Team should include Melissa Astegiano (Equipe Limone) and Emilia Mondinelli (Sci Club Mera). The Aggregate fast disciplines team should include Ginevra Trevisan (Golden Team Ceccarelli), Sofia Silvestro (Sci Club Bardonecchia), Beatrice Remolif (Sci Club Sauze d’Oulx) and Francesca Cianalino (Sci Club Pragelato). With the coach Alberto Platinetti at the helm, it comes from a two-year period full of results with the entry into the national teams before Sara Allemand, Veronika Calati, Giulia Paventa and Serena Viviani, then in the winter 2019/2020 for the younger athletes the goal was to continue to increase their technical background and experience. It is obvious that the inability to play the Absolute, Young and Aspiring Italian Championships makes the end-of-season balance inevitably incomplete, but what the Piedmontese athletes have shown up to the beginning of March bodes well for the future. Martina Piaggio (Mondolè Ski Team) has grown and distinguished herself with 2nd place both in the ranking of technical disciplines and in the general. Chiara Teroni also did well, tenth in the final classification of the institutional circuit as regards the technical disciplines and close to the podium in a couple of stages of the Italian Grand Prix. Giulia Currado Vietti, in her second year among the Aspirants, made progress in giant and fast disciplines. The ranking for Committees of the Italian Grand Prix saw the Western Alps in third place, considering the national team contingent (4 Junior athletes), behind the ASIVA Aosta Valley Committee and South Tyrol. In the ranking of technical disciplines, the AOC Committee is in second place behind the Aosta Valley, with 6 athletes among the top 22: Martina Piaggio second, Chiara Teroni tenth, Giulia Currado Vietti nineteenth, Martina Sacchi twentieth, Martina Banchi twenty-first, Chiara Town twenty-second. At the national level, however, among the girls here is Marta Bassino and Francesca Marsaglia (CS Army) in the World Cup groups, while Anita Gulli (CS Army) from Turin has been included in the European Cup group such as the Genoese Serena Viviani (Fiamme Oro Moena ). Among the athletes of national interest the Genoese Valentina Cillara Rossi (Yellow Flames), the Bardonecchiese Sara Allemand (Carabinieri) and the Genoese Martina Piaggio (Mondolè Ski Team) are included in the female Junior group. Martina Banchi (Golden Team Ceccarelli) has been added to the Osservate group. In the men's national team confirmed in the World Cup group the valsusini Mattia Casse (Fiamme Oro Moena) and Matteo Marsaglia (C.S. Army). Giovanni Borsotti (Carabinieri) was confirmed as one of the athletes in the technical disciplines group. Matteo Franzoso from Genoa (Fiamme Gialle) joins the European Cup group and there are five athletes from the FISI Western Alps Committee who are part of the group.
