Let's take a look at the long-term World Cup calendars: a parallel idea between Solden and Levi

The FIS has published the drafts for the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons (with the Olympics) of the maximum circuit. Finals in Lenzerheide and Meribel / Courchevel

The World Cup to come will be that of the maxi calendar, in the year without major events, with 42 individual races for the women's sector and 45 for the men's sector, but it can be seen that even in the long term the international federation has indicated a line very precise. We do not touch the great classics, and God forbid, but there will almost certainly be (with changes over the next few months and the various FIS congresses) other novelties, especially with regard to combined and parallel. In the 2020/21 season, it will start in Solden between Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, and here among the giants on the Rettenbach and the Levi slaloms, scheduled three weeks later, a weekend dedicated only to the parallel is expected ( in locations to be defined), with an event team and an individual parallel slalom. The women will then continue throughout December without substantial changes, that is with the competitions in Killington, Lake Louise, Sankt Moritz, Courchevel and Val d''Isere before the post-Christmas stopover in Austria, this time in Semmering. Ditto for men, nothing changes with Lake Louise, Beaver Creek, Val d''Isere and the Italian races between Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Bormio (still with descent and combined), even if the Campiglio night slalom returns to "His" date, that of December 22nd. In January, women and men in Zagreb, then the women's sector will live on the tour between St. Anton, Flachau, Jasna, Crans Montana (anticipated), the return of Kronplatz with the giant scheduled for January 26, 2021, the fast races in Garmisch and the Stockholm parallel before the world championships in Cortina, set from 8 to 21 February. The technical tests of Maribor in the last weekend of February, the Olympic speed pre-runs in Yanqing (which men will face already in the 2019/2020 vintage) and the races of Are will precede the finals that will return to Lenzerheide again, from 17 to 21 March 2021. At the same time, the boys will play all the classics of January, with the addition of Chamonix (which returns fixed stage with descent and parallel giant), followed by Stockholm and Garmisch before the World Championship in Italy. To close, another return with Bansko who will have combined and giant, before the classic double Kvitfjell-Kranjska Gora. SEASON 2021/2022 The 2021/2022 season will be that of the great appointment with the Olympic Games in Beijing, scheduled from 4 to 20 February 2022. The start, as is traditional in Solden, on 30-31 October, the "weekend of the parallel" to precede Levi and then, for women, the US leg of late November (Killington is not confirmed), Cortina's return in mid-January and some “holes” still to be defined. The finals? They will be divided between Meribel and Courchevel (from 16 to 20 March 2022), a little less than a year from the world championship that the two French cities will host in February 2023. Similar discourse for the male calendar: no particular variations are noticed, even if there will be no Bansko and Chamonix will have to "conquer" a new insertion in the program. More generally, the trend in the number of races will not change, with the FIS trying to keep at least 3-4 combined on the calendar and should reach 4-5 parallels for both the women's and men's sectors.
