Here is the calendar of the European Cup 2021/22: the slalom in Valle Aurina and the Italian December confirmed

The FIS has set the program of the continental circuit, which will return to its "original" version albeit with a couple of doubts. The finals will be in Soldeu.

A calendar that is pretty full again, after the emergency season just experienced and started practically in late December, with the sacrifice of the first stages in Scandinavia. The 2021/22 European Cup will have a total of 77 races (38 for men, 39 for women), without combined and parallel races and the scheduled start, as usual, at the end of November. Let's start from the men's sector, with the Austrian Maximilian Lahnsteiner holder of the continental circuit trophy: 9 descents, 9 super-gs, 10 giants and 10 slaloms are planned, with the two tests between the wide doors in Zinal, on November 30th and December 1, to open the program. We will remain in Switzerland for the super-g of Sankt Moritz (4-5 December), then the now classic appointment of Santa Caterina Valfurva with the descents of 12 and 13 December. On the 15th and 16th, in the heart of the "Italian month" of the European Cup, the locations that will host the two slaloms usually divided between Obereggen and Pozza di Fassa are still to be officially defined, with the "Aloch" hosting them both last year. . Last appointment of 2021 in Gurgl, Austria, with the double giant of 19-20 December and the clear choice, to better manage the “bubbles” situation regarding Covid, to play a couple of races of the same discipline in each location. On 4-5 January 2022 we will go to Berchtesgaden for two slaloms, then the double super-g of Wengen (7-8 January), the descents of Tarvisio (12-13 January), the return to the east with the giants of Spindleruv Mlyn (17-18 of the month) and the French slalom of Vaujany moved to 22-23 January. And then again the two descents of Saalbach (28-29 January) followed immediately by the super-g of Garmisch (1-2 February), with giant and slalom at Reiteralm on 3-4 February. The long Norwegian trip will start from Kvitfjell with two descents scheduled for 10 and 11 February, then from 14 to 19 four races in Oppdal, with two super-gs and two giants. The last pre-final appointment is scheduled for February 22-23 in Sweden, in a location yet to be established (but it should be Funesdalen) with two slaloms, then the conclusion of the season in Soldeu, from March 14 to 20 with a race for every specialty. FROM ANDALO TO VAL SARENTINO Eleven slaloms, eleven giants, eight super-gs, nine descents for a very intense calendar of the women's cup which, in 2020/21, saw the Norwegian Marte Monsen win in ... sprint. The start, in this case, will be right on the Scandinavian snows as in recent "normal" years: double slalom in Funesdalen on 26-27 November and then Norway with the Trysil stage, for the two giants on 29-30 November followed by super -g of Kvitfjell scheduled for December 2-3. We will return to the Alps for the super-g of Zinal, with a double race on the Swiss snows on 8 and 9 December, while we will arrive in Italy for a triple appointment between Andalo, with the giants of 11-12 December, the confirmation of the slalom in Valle Aurina (15-16 December) and the return of “La VolatA” to Passo San Pellegrino, with the Fassa descents on 20 and 21 December to close 2021. Restart from Orcieres-Merlette, in France, with two descents and two giants from 10 to 16 January, then we go towards Meiringen-Hasliberg for the two classic slaloms in the Swiss town, with Austria closing the month of January between runs of St. Anton (25-26) and the slalom of Zell am See (28-29). Another Italian double on February 2-3 on the snow of Val Sarentino, which will once again host two super-gs, then we will return to talk of a giant with four series tests between the wide doors; on 5-6 February in Slovenia, even if Krvavec should be the place yet to be officially defined, then with a historic appointment in Serbia, on 9 and 10 of the month in Kopaonik. From 19 to 21 February, a speed hat-trick in Crans-Montana, with two descents and a super-g, and finally the slalom in Bad Wiessee (24-25 February) before the Soldeu finals.
