The absence of Estelle Alphand, daughter of Luc, winner of the Crystal Ball in 1997 and of three Free Drop Cups, from the training for the next season has now an explanation.

A statement from the French Federation, published today, explains how Briancon's skier in recent months has been asked to compete for the colors of Sweden, the nation of which has the passport as Mother's birthplace, Anna-Karin. After impressing in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games, winning the Gold in SuperG and the Giants and Combined Argents, the Frenchman in the age of twenty-two did not confirm in the following seasons where he always oscillated between appearances in the European Cup and sporadic appearances at the Coppa del World where he qualified only three times for the second leg of a Giant, getting as the best result for a 22nd place in Aspen in 2015.
Looking for new stimuli and virtually confident of being on the margins of French selection, Estelle Alphand has applied for change of nationality and the federal transatlantic federation has accepted in good faith even if at the FIS Council in Portorose has tried to demand a banner on the effects Of this transfer, as reported by Ski Chrono. The FIS did not go into the issue, leaving the two federations to find the deal that involves the loss of an actual in the Giant World Cup contingent for France.
Swedish skiing director Tommy Eliasson Winter told Skiracing.com that Estelle Alphand will enter the second training group.
