A good 20 years ago, in the now distant 2001, the yellow-green sport opened up to women, incorporating the first athletes. Today, on the occasion of International Women's Day, to celebrate this important milestone, the Fiamme Gialle wanted to express all their appreciation and gratitude to their athletes, through two symbolic events. In Verona, at the headquarters of the Provincial Command and in the presence of the Commander, Col. TST Vittorio Francavilla, a delegation of the Skiers Group gathered around the App. Sofia Goggia, who in the Scaligero capital is concentrating all her efforts to treat the fracture of the tibial plateau of the right knee remedied on January 31 in Garmisch. The Bergamo champion was handed over by her very young colleague, the Fin. Giovanni Franzoni, fresh winner of a gold and a silver at the Jr World Cup in Bansko, a pen engraved with the heraldic motto of the Guardia di Finanza "NEC RECISA RECEDIT", which Sofia has always made her own and which never before represents perfectly his indomitable will to overcome any injury. Almost at the same time, at Malpensa Airport, a delegation from the Fiamme Gialle of athletics, which is celebrating 100 years of activity this year, welcomed the Italian team on their return from the European Championships in Torun, handing Larissa Iapichino , Rebecca Borga and Alessia Trost (who today celebrates 28 years) a floral tribute and a letter from athletes, technicians and managers of the Fiamme Gialle Sports Groups. Through these initiatives, the Guardia di Finanza wanted to say "thank you" to all the athletes of the Fiamme Gialle active and not (including the Olympic medals Tania Cagnotto, Marta Capurso, Arianna Fontana, Sofia Goggia, Isolde Kostner, Lucia Morico, Giulia Quintavalle, Elisa Rigaudo, Martina Valcepina, Elena Viviani, Dorothea Wierer) who in these twenty years have enriched the business not only with many medals and successes, but also with an extraordinary professionalism and innate kindness.
