Hintermann returns to success in the Panorama super-g with many Cup big names; nice win for Ploner in Austria

Quick double test in Canada, ideal preparation for the Lake Louise races. All results between Pass Thurn, Bjorli and Bormio.

The first real weekend full of FIS and junior races is about to end, and the interesting results are not lacking in the prospect and a beautiful blue victory. It starts with Panorama, the Canadian location chosen by various national teams to prepare the first speed event in the World Cup, scheduled in Lake Louise next week. Double super-g FIS with many well-known names of the maximum circuit and victory in the first test of Niels Hintermann, returned to exult at almost 3 years since that incredible 13 January 2017, when the Swiss downhill skier triumphed in the CdM combined in Wengen (race in conditions to say the least ... details). In second place a Carlo Janka who seems to be definitely better with his back and was preceded by only 3 cents from his teammate; the Slovenian Cater completes the podium (at 9 cents), but we also find Kline in 5th place, Roulin at 8th, then many French (Muzaton, Giezendanner and Giraud Moine in the rear), Canadians and young Austrians. In the second super-g, the '95 Canadian class Brodie Seger imposed himself, with 14 cents on the French Roy Piccard and 16 on the Austrian Julian Schuetter: 7th Janka, 12th Hintermann himself. Italy instead toasted the success of Manuel Ploner in the FIS slalom of Pass Thurn, in Austria: the Croat Nikic, who is third at 47, the Austrian Opetnik, who was also ahead of Matteo Canins, 6th, was cut off by 43 cents. Matteo Franzoso good 7th and, from 10th place onwards, Franzoni, Bendotti, Hofer and Pizio. Sunday is replicated with another slalom. In Norway, on the slopes of Bjorli, after the two inaugural giants, here is the double slalom over the weekend: the Norwegian Oscar Zimmer (2001) won again, while among women he literally dominated Maria Therese Tviberg, already absolute protagonist in the giant of World Cup in Soelden. Finally the giants FIS junior of Bormio: hurray for Alice Pazzaglia (2002) among the girls, while the '99 Tommaso Canclini beats everyone in the men's race.
