The masterpiece of Livigno, from the Absolutes to the World Cup dream: "So we brought the top to Little Tibet"

During the live broadcast on NEVEITALIA, Luca Gasparini and Giorgio Scuri explained to us how the Valtellinese resort, thanks to the work of Sitas, was able to welcome the best skiers in the world. And so it will also be for the whole month of April, while today Manfred Moelgg and Alex Vinatzer have already returned to the track, after the tricolors.

A real masterpiece, to ensure that Livigno becomes more and more a point of reference also in the panorama of alpine skiing. This is what the Sitas company did, opening its facilities to guarantee months of slopes in exceptional conditions and, in the first three days of this week, being able to host the technical competitions of the Italian Absolute Championships, according to athletes, technicians and professionals a huge success. With our Dario Puppo at the helm, on NEVEITALIA we welcomed Luca Gasparini and Giorgio Scuri to talk to us about what "combined" in the heart of Little Tibet, given that in the last few weeks in particular many big names in the white circus have trained in Livigno Azzurri (with the return of Sofia Goggia herself) to Ester Ledecka, from Tessa Worley to Mikaela Shiffrin, thanks also to the collaboration with the local Apt. And it will not stop even for the month of April, with material tests for many athletes. "We have also received the request from the Swiss national team, we will continue in the next few weeks and the conditions are really optimal - the words of Scuri regarding the welcome of the champions - Thanks to Giovanni Cusini, owner of Sitas who believed in this project, we have worked on the possibility of helping our ski clubs and at the same time hosting world-class teams. We made the difference in December, working on perfectly prepared slopes; we started slowly until we got to organize the Italian championships. And the feedback has all been favorable ”. For Gasparini, “the Sitas company made it possible for Livigno to open up to the world and, unfortunately there is not the usual presence of tourists, with the help of Giorgio we managed to have a very high level activity. Being told by a champion like Muffat-Jeandet that he will return both in summer and in winter to train, is a source of pride and means that the boys really felt at home, beyond the quality of the work they could perform on the track. In the alpine skiing field, Livigno has never had the notoriety of other places, also for this reason we are enthusiastic about what has been done ". Livigno, which will be the Olympic venue for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games, has already proposed for the idea of a parallel to the World Cup, but this year it has already managed to host two recoveries by the giants of the European Cup in female level. “Those races were a springboard, the request to host the Absolutes was a consequence - continues Scuri - Having already organized some editions of the tricolors, I knew it would be very important to take them home as a showcase for the future. The possibility in the future is to give availability for World Cup recovery matches, I think it is realistic to try, unlike an entry on the calendar. It is a dream, but now also a goal ”. "The hope is that next year we can repeat all this at a competitive level, but that fans can come to Livigno to enjoy the spectacle of the athletes and at the same time ski - concluded Gasparini - We will work to make it happen. all of this".
