Even in Italy, we must deal with the Covid problem.
In the last hours a couple of situations have emerged related to athletes and staff of the Italian national teams. Although not made official by the FISI, the news reported by “sportnews.bz” concerns the men's jumping World Cup team, which did not fly to Poland for the first stage of the maximum circuit scheduled for the weekend in Wisla. Precisely on Wednesday, when the team should have left, the positivity of a member of the technical staff emerged, so Insam and his companions will not compete in the seasonal opening despite the negativity of the athletes in the tests, with the hope of returning to race for the Ruka weekend of 28-29 November.
Covid which also affected the captain of the men's alpine ski team: Manfred Moelgg, in fact, tested positive in recent days like a large part of his family. The South Tyrolean highlander is in isolation in his San Vigilio di Marebbe, with some symptoms treated and Manni improving, after being forced to skip the gigantists' gathering scheduled this week in Cervinia.
As his colleague Gianmario Bonzi reports, practically only his sister Manuela has avoided the infection, having been away from home in recent times. For big brother Manfred, we hope for a recovery for the giants of Val d''Isère on 5-6 December, even if it will not be easy.
