Kronplatz ... despite everything.
The organizers of the classic parallel slalom at night which traditionally ends the calendar year for the European Cup circuit have been put to the test.
And yet, despite the sacrifice of avoiding qualifying on the Erta, competing since the morning on the Cianross track, the test was brought home, saving at least the balance of the all-Italian week that had already seen Obereggen (a race in progress) and Passo San Pellegrino, with the two female descents canceled beforehand, raise the white flag due to bad weather and high temperatures.
And it was the young who dominated the heart of San Vigilio di Marebbe, with the Swedish Emelie Henning (born in 1999), to triumph in the women's race, ahead of the German Martina Ostler (''98) and the Norwegian Tuva Norbye (' ' 96), while the best Italian was Marta Rossetti, out only in the quarterfinals at the hands of Norbye herself, with the Brescia class of '99 at the end of fifth and satisfied.
Among the men, with the best blue that was the senior Pietro Franceschetti, eliminated in the round of 16, Austria put two boys on the podium: Pirmin Hacker (''96), third Thomas Dorner (' '98 won ), with German Adrian Meisen bent in the final by Hacker.
