The world championships in the words of the CEO of the Cortina 2021 Foundation. "There will be digital innovation and top-level TV production". And the work on the slopes, thanks to the heavy snowfall, began a few days early.

The Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina are getting closer and everything is ready to go on stage, in the Queen of the Dolomites, with what will be the first major winter sports event in the pandemic era. Cortina 2021 Foundation has been working for months on the possibility of an event without an audience, also to ensure the highest safety standards for all participants; a scenario that had already been taken into consideration for some time by the organizing committee, defining a very detailed health protocol in the best possible way and investing, thanks also to the support of the Government, in the digital and television communication of the event. The decision of the CTS to have the Cortina World Cup held, albeit “behind closed doors”, is an important sign of confidence in the work done so far. The absence of the general public leads to regret for the territory and the event itself but, in light of the current precarious health situation, it was one of the already known scenarios and therefore Fondazione Cortina 2021 has continued unceasingly its work of preparing the great event, when we are now less than a month from the Opening Ceremony (on 7 February, at 6 pm live on Rai2). In this context, the use of digital technology and national and international television promotion of the event is even more fundamental. Through the collaboration with Infront Sports & Media and other specialized suppliers, the World Cup project will be accessible to all, making the many fans who cannot physically be in Cortina feel part of the event. Virtual grandstands, virtual media center, streaming and exclusive content on the Cortina 2021 App and new projects with TV are just some of the tools through which it will be possible to enjoy the world championship event. In addition to the intense work on the safety and digital front, thanks to the recent and abundant snowfalls, Fondazione Cortina 2021 was also able to start work on the slopes a few days earlier than the set times. The preparation of the snowpack is in progress, the preparation of the turrets on which the cameras will be installed, the arrangement of the headlights and the relative connections that will allow to work on the track even during the night. The machine is fully operational, and it will be even more so from January 18, when preparations will begin: setting up the protection nets, wetting the tracks, laying the cables necessary for television production.
