Austria for Val d''Isère and Sankt Moritz; Strasser leads Germany in the first slalom of the season

The latest choices of the main national teams in view of the World Cup weekend; Feller, Pertl and Raschner will face the double engagement on the Face de Bellevarde.

Austria has chosen the nine women who will compete on Saturday in the first of the two super-g of Sankt Moritz, reserving the possibility of some changes in view of Sunday's appointment, also because there is plenty in the Wunderteam considering that for race-1 in the Engadine will be left out Elisabeth Reisinger and Christina Ager, today winners (with another podium each) of the two super-gs of the European Cup in Zinal. Mirjam Puchner, twice third in Lake Louise and for the first time in super-g, last Sunday, will compete with Cornelia Huetter, Tamara Tippler (4th in the opening of specialties in Canada), Nicole Schmidhofer, Christine Scheyer, Ramona Siebenhofer, Ricarda Haaser, Nadine Fest and Ariane Raedler. Thirteen men will be involved in the weekend in Val d''Isère: eight will be involved in the giant on Saturday, with Stefan Brennsteiner leading a team that will have to do without Roland Leitinger for the entire season, 2nd in the opening of Soelden before breaking the crusader again, and will count on Manuel Feller, Adrian Pertl, Raphael Haaser, Christian Borgnaes, Dominik Raschner, Patrick Feurstein and Thomas Dorner. Feller, Pertl and Raschner will also play the slalom on Sunday, the first of the cup season for which Marco Schwarz has recovered in extremis, as already announced on Wednesday, the holder of the crystal ball of the discipline. The red and white team is completed by Michael Matt, Christian Hirschbuehl (fresh from his first triumph in CdM in the parallel of Lech / Zuers), Fabio Gstrein and Johannes Strolz. Germany, on the other hand, will propose a Kira Weidle for the super-g of Sankt Moritz who certainly did not start very well in Lake Louise, with Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger probably at her side following the results obtained today in the European Cup. In Val d''Isère, on the other hand, Alexander Schmid, Julian Rauchfuss and Fabian Gratz in giant will take to the track, with the notorious absence of Stefan Luitz who underwent a herniated disc in these hours, and in slalom we will see Linus Strasser, for the first time cup winner last season, with Schmid and Rauchfuss themselves, as well as Fabian Himmelsbach and Anton Tremmel.
