Hotel BellaVista will reopen on May 28th and launches the idea: skiing with Gustav Thoeni in June

The Thoeni family has renovated the hotel in Trafoi: the initiative is a special spring holiday alongside the champion who wrote the history of blue skiing.

Do you want summer and mountain excursions, but also skiing? The Thoeni family offers both possibilities in June. Trekking, but also skiing on the summer snow in the area of the Stelvio glacier, one of the largest in the Alps where it is possible to practice summer skiing. Objective: to recover the white weeks of the winter just ended. The historic Hotel BellaVista, in art nouveau style and recently renovated, at the foot of the “King Ortles” in Val Venosta, will reopen in Trafoi on May 28th and promises the ideal spring holiday in the mountains. The hotel is located at the start of the summer ski area of the Stelvio glacier and, secondly, this family has a great passion for skiing; Gustav Thoeni is the hotel''s "senior boss" who, with his whole family, made the most of the pandemic forced closure to make the interior of the Belle Époque Alpina style structure even more elegant and welcoming. A step back in time for the guests of the Hotel BellaVista; in an instant you are back in the golden age of alpine tourism around 1900, but with the state-of-the-art comfort of 2021. King Gustav has just celebrated his 70th birthday, but that doesn't stop the winner of four cups World champion and Sapporo 1972 Olympic champion, to ski with his guests on spring snow at 3,000 meters above sea level, just in time for the start of the ski season. A very happy champion to teach amateur skiers some tricks to be able to perform at their best on the snowy slopes. The proposal is therefore the following: we leave at dawn when the snow is perfect, we ski with Thoeni surrounded by the imposing Ortles mountains, also having fun with excursions and trekking. Petra, Gustav's daughter and junior chef at Hotel BellaVista, together with her husband Stephan will accompany their guests in their early summer summit assault at Piz Umbrail. "My first three thousand!" This is the name of the experience up to 3,033 meters of altitude after two hours of climbing on a narrow path (with a short, but not difficult stretch with a steel rope). And for the children? In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, it is also possible for them to climb at the brand new “Trafoi Climbing Park”.
