Tuesday 4 January the women's slalom, Wednesday 5 the men's third of the CdM season: eleven blue squads, with only 5 girls (Brignone missing) and 6 men led by Vinatzer, on the podium on the Sljeme hill two years ago.

First day of the new year and it is already time to think about stage number 1 of the World Cup in 2022, or the slalom scheduled at the beginning of the week in Zagreb.
The convocations of an Italian national team that will count on 11 elements, two fewer than the previous specialty competitions between Lienz and Madonna di Campiglio: Tuesday 4 January (1st heat at 12.30, the second at 16.05) there will in fact be only 5 girls at the starting gate, given that Federica Brignone, the only blue in the points last Wednesday, is thinking directly of the races in Kranjska Gora and we will not see any Salvadori athletes among the top thirty.
Lara Della Mea, Marta Rossetti, Anita Gulli, Sophie Mathiou and confirmed Vera Tschutschenthaler will try to find the first qualifier of the season, who will then play her third slalom in CdM, considering that in addition to Peterlini, Viviani and Midali are also out.
On Wednesday 5 January (at 3.30 pm the appointment with the 1st heat, at 6.40 pm the start of the second) there will be six Theolier's blues lined up on the Sljeme hill, right where in 2017 the last success of a slalom runner arrived blue in the World Cup, with the triumph of Manfred Moelgg seven years after that of Giuliano Razzoli in 2010 (right in front of the Marebbano on that occasion).
Moelgg and Razzoli who will obviously be at the start of the third men's specialty race this cup season, even if the main expectations are linked to Alex Vinatzer, 4th in Campiglio and 3rd in Zagreb in 2020, for the first of his two podiums in the maximum circuit. Stefano Gross, Tommaso Sala (back from two twelfth places) and Simon Maurberger, great 10th on Canalone Miramonti, complete the formation which, compared to the last slalom, will not count on the very young Tommaso Saccardi.
