Pending the definitive calendar of the next World Cup, the 2020/21 season of the European Cup circuit has been remodeled and presented.
The FIS wanted to save the continental circuit, while canceling the initial stages between Levi and Funesdalen, starting with the women's calendar on 30 November-1 December with the two Norwegian giants of Trysil, the same location where 3-4 December will be staged two slaloms (before moving to Sankt Moritz with a double super-g on the menu). Obviously, races of the same specialty have been grouped together as much as possible, as will be the case from the beginning for the men who will inaugurate the year on 1-2 December in Reiteralm, before facing the races in Zinal and arriving in Italy.
Livigno will inaugurate the all-Italian ten-day event: the “Little Tibet” is the big news, with a male parallel on 11 December and a female one the next day, a possible preamble to the World Cup dream in the coming years. Confirmed Santa Caterina Valfurva, with two male descents on 14-15 of the month, with Val di Fassa having the two female descents on "La Volata" (canceled in 2019) on 17-18, followed by the two classic giants for girls on 20 and 21 in Andalo. The men, on the other hand, will compete in the two traditional slaloms of Obereggen and Pozza di Fassa on December 17th and 18th, closing 2020 in Zauchensee.
From January, blocks of races between France, with the triptych from Tignes to Val Cenis and Vaujany, and Switzerland with four stages in Gstaad, Crans-Montana, Wengen (men's double super-g) and Melchsee Frutt. Italy will be back on January 22-23 with the male giants of Folgaria, but also in February here is Val Sarentino (February 9-11) for the girls with two super-gs and one combined, while the men will go to Sella Nevea 24-25 February for two runs.
Finals distributed, from 15 to 21 March, between Saalbach and Reiteralm, which will thus have their final races canceled in March 2020 due to a pandemic.
