Lara Gut: "What if it was just love?"

Lara Gut's very long outburst on her Facebook page in which she returns to talk about her marriage with the Swiss Udinese Valon Behrami, the 27 year-old from Ticino says she is not pregnant and will continue skiing until she burns her passion, also talks about her relationship with parents and with the younger brother Ian.

"I always suffered a lot of attacks on my dad, I would go to every person who criticized him to say, 'Dad is the only one who is always next to me, he never let my head go under when I was drowning and he has never left me alone in this world, where he is treated more as a commodity than as a human being. So please, shut up because you would not be able to make a thousandth of what Dad managed to do for me. " For years I was rosy when I had to release the interviews to a particular newspaper because they distorted everything but above all because they did not stop writing the name of my brother with the 'J' and I took it as a lack of respect for it. The first time one of the journalists of that magazine told me sorry, Ian with the "I" right? Here I calmed down. Not to think about how bad I was when I discovered all the letters of insults, threats, and various follies that my mother has received for years at home, while she was there alone and did not show me not to make me worse off. She always went out of her way to keep her family bound, to make us miss nothing, to make us feel safe and there were people who dared to take it out on her. Even now when I think about it, tears come to my eyes and I wonder 'but why?' I basically took this path just to be able to ski and live my dream. As a child, a girl, a young woman, I continue to dream. Because someone said 'we are made of the same substance dreams are made of' and I agree. How can we want a better life if we always look at others? How can we hope that beautiful things happen to us if we denigrate everything around us? How can we hope that something makes us wake up every morning with a smile if we are the first to set limits and not want to believe it? And above all, how can we dream if we do not have the courage to close our eyes and feel what we have inside? I am a person, I am a daughter, I am a sister, I am also a wife and aunt, I am a friend, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and yes, even an athlete. And all these 'roles' can be lived at 100%, one must stop believing that one thing is at the expense of the other. So here, excuse me if I vent and if the truth seems too obvious to be true but I married for love, that's all. I grew up among books, feelings, emotions and real people convinced that Love with a capital A existed. I always admired my parents, the strength and confidence that they gave each other growing up and then, when I met the person who made me feel at home, who came into me, I realized I had found someone who would accompany me every day, one step at a time. No, I'm not pregnant. I drink water because I have always been a teetotaler, I live between Lugano and Udine since I prefer to spend two more minutes with Valon rather than two less, in my free days I jump on a plane and go home because it is a hundred thousand times better than passing the day in videocall, and no, living does not go to the detriment of a sports career, trust me. I will continue to ski until I feel the passion burn inside, the desire to question myself on the track, the nervousness when I do not get something good, the satisfaction of being a curve made as I painted it in my mind, the desire to improve myself, the effect that adrenaline makes before a race ... but I will not be the only one. Because that's just my being an athlete. In December I will always ask mom if we will prepare cookies for Christmas together as we did when I was small, I will jump on my husband every time I come home, I marvel at the horses that dad knows how to draw perfectly, I will point the alarm clock my only day in Ticino to have breakfast with my best friend when the night shift ends, I will make pizza with the boys at home, I will defend my brother and I will do even more afternoons with him at the lake or on the sofa by my in-laws to watch the games of Valon when I can not be present. This instead is called life and these are the moments that will remain forever in my heart. And yes, maybe I will look a little more human because I have too often hidden my feelings behind the face of an athlete; winning is beautiful, but true success is excelling with a happy heart.
