A morning with Stefano Gross, for the guys from the Trentino Ski Team who have just started preparing for the 2020/21 season.
The native slalomist of the Val di Fassa dedicated himself to the confrontation with the talents of the alpine skiing teams of the Trentino FISI Committee, engaged for five training days in Predazzo, led by the technical director Enrico Vicenzi, by the manager of athletic training, Giuseppe “Sepp "Chenetti, and assisted by the physical trainer Cristian Pellegrin and the coaches Andrea Sonda and Mattia Facchinelli.
Aurora Carlini, Fabian Cincelli, Luca Claus, Edoardo D''Amico, Giorgia Felicetti, Gianmarco Paci, Francesco Santacroce, Davide Seppi, Beatrice Sola, Matteo Vignola, Tommaso Zanella and Andrea Zanetti then had the opportunity to meet the blue champion at the gym Planet Gym of Canazei. It was also an opportunity for Gross to tell the boys his first international experiences, seasoned by that podium touched at the Mont-Sainte-Anne junior world championships in 2006, which ended in 4th place in slalom. "That was the first of other fourth places - Gross said referring above all to the mockery of Sochi, when he lost the Olympic bronze for 5 cents - I have a good memory of my junior period, even if in those years the Ski Team Fassa managed directly their young athletes while collaborating with the Trentino Committee.
Being part of the provincial representative means that everyone has talent and ability, but one must hold on, never give up, because nobody gives anything. Skiing, like all high-level sports, requires a huge sacrifice, but those who manage to emerge will then have priceless rewards ".
To the guys of the Trentino Ski Team, Stefano Gross then explained how to prepare athletically and his current state of form: “I am very happy with these months of preparation. I have no physical pain and I have excellent sensations, I am in good shape and even in the 12 days of skiing at the Stelvio I managed to do an excellent technical job, despite the weather not always being the best. I will continue with dedication waiting to understand how the next World Cup calendar will be, if it will be confirmed or if they will concentrate weekly competitions in limited geographical areas. We are ready for anything. "
