Sweden presents itself for the Olympic season: 40 athletes and the long-awaited return of Anna Swenn-Larsson

Forty athletes, with a new development team dedicated to young people and the desire to find success in the World Cup, even before aiming for the great goal of the Beijing Olympic Games. The Swedish national team presents itself for the 2021/22 season, formalizing the staff presented by the confirmed manager of the alpine skiing sector, Lars Melin. "The Olympics are a milestone, but during the journey to Beijing there are other goals that the athletes are already working towards and which can be important to gain confidence even in the grand event". The most awaited woman is certainly Anna Swenn-Larsson, the beacon of a team that had to give up the really unlucky slalomist last year, from the two missed races of Levi due to the positivity of the head coach Christian Thoma, to the same Covid that hit before the ankle injury that put an end to a season, in fact, never started for the vice world champion of Are 2019. In group 1 of the women's sector, in addition to Swenn-Larsson, we find many slalomists like Elsa Fermbaeck (promoted compared to last year), Emelie Wikstroem, Charlotta Saefvenberg and Magdalena Fjaellstroem and two complete athletes ready to compete between giant and speed, Sara Hector and Estelle Alphand. The speed group is formed by the trio Ida Dannewitz, Lisa Hoernblad and Jonna Luthman, while in the development group there are many very young elements, but already seen in CdM, such as Sara Rask, Hanna Aronsson Elfman, Moa Bostroem Mussener and Liv Ceder. The men's sector focuses strongly on Kristoffer Jakobsen, a slalom rider who has achieved little, even in the world race in Cortina, compared to what was shown in terms of potential in various heats of the season. With him in group 1 here is the gigantist Mattias Roenngren, now recovered from physical problems, but the speed team is not bad either (even if the recent tradition is certainly not favorable) set up in recent times, with Felix Monsen grown to excellent levels and flanked by Alexander Koell, Olle Sundin and Johan Hagberg. Nine young athletes in the development team, six others included in group 3.
