"Skigarden Val di Sole", the first center in Trentino to ski all year round on Neveplast slopes

On 26-27 June the opening with the participation of a great champion like Marco Melandri. All the details.

In Mezzana, in the heart of Val di Sole, where skiing is an identifying trait of the territory, "Skigarden Val di Sole" is born: this is the first project in Trentino where you can ski, even in the height of summer, without snow on two slopes in Neveplast synthetic material. On June 26-27 there will be the Opening, with the participation of a great champion such as the former pilot Marco Melandri and many athletes from the world of skiing. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the GSH association that deals with sports and disabilities in Val di Sole. The operational scenario is a space surrounded by greenery with a track for more experienced skiers and a first steps track for those who have never put skis on your feet. Skigarden also offers a tubing track with parabolic curves and a well-stocked snack point to spend days of sport, fun and relaxation. The project was born in full Covid emergency from the initiative of two professionals in the sector, Matteo Taller and Diego Redolfi, who bet on Neveplast to expand the summer tourist offer in Val di Sole. "In September 2020, Diego and I were on vacation and we reflected on how to use our skills and our passion for alpine skiing in a project linked to summer tourism - explain the two managers - We needed something innovative for the summer, possibly an absolute preview in Trentino. We initially thought about grass skiing. An idea that we abandoned almost immediately because skis are not used to practice grass skiing and for us this was an important detail. Neveplast, on the other hand, was the answer we were looking for. The Bergamo-based company specializing in the construction of synthetic ski slopes had particularly intrigued us after the construction of the slope on the roof of the waste-to-energy plant in Copenhagen. The first thing to do was to find a location, a green area where the ski slope could be built. Once identified, we contacted the company and a week after the first phone call Diego and I were already in Bergamo, skis on, trying the Neveplast slope in the city center. The feedback after the first descents was immediately excellent. We immediately understood that this could be an excellent tool not only to bring people closer to skiing, but also an alternative for those who, during their free time, wanted to have fun skiing even after work or school ". Strengths of the location? Taller and Redolfi explain them. “Skigarden Val di Sole is located in Mezzana, a town that thrives on tourism in winter but increasingly popular in summer. The area we have chosen is immersed in a very suggestive environmental context, with the river Noce flowing nearby and easily reachable on foot from the many hotels in the area. One of the strengths of the location is its accessibility: you can get there from the cycle path that passes right in front of our center or by train from Trento, or for those who want to arrive by car there are many parking lots in the immediate vicinity. Those who want to bring their own equipment but for those who do not have it or prefer to arrive by bike without clutter, can rent skis and boots directly from us. We add that, as professionals in the mountain sector, the issue of environmental sustainability is primary for both. We are lucky enough to be born in a wonderful natural environment, we live and work on the snow, always surrounded and immersed in nature, so the vocation to protect the environment is in our DNA. We have designed Ski Garden with the aim of integrating it harmoniously into the surrounding natural landscape. The impact on the environment had to be reduced to a minimum and also for this reason we thought of Neveplast, a special, eco-friendly, completely regenerable plastic material that has obtained the positive environmental impact certification and does not contain harmful substances for the environment. . Our idea is to open Skigarden also in other locations in Italy, a sort of franchise. We have already had some requests, we hope to give you other good news soon ".
