It is already an open battle for the crystal ball of grass skiing: Azzurri protagonists in the first weekend of races in Rettenbach

The World Cup has begun and there is already a great duel for the men's overall standings, won in the last four seasons by Edoardo Frau.
The 38-year-old Asiago champion, in fact, began a new adventure positively, taking three podiums in as many races of the Austrian inaugural appointment, but he found a great Martin Bartak on his way; the 19 year old Czech talent established himself in Saturday's opening giant, which Frau finished in 3rd place, and also in the supergiant who opened the Sunday day, ahead of the CdM holder and the Austrian Philipp Gschwandtner. Frau's response came in the afternoon slalom which gave the success in the super combined, in which it preceded Bartak and the Swiss Hueppi, for a Cup classification that sees Bartak leader after three tests with 280 points, ahead of Frau at altitude 240 and Portmann with 175 lengths.
Staying in the Azzurri, top ten in the super-g for Pietro Guerini, sixth, and Lorenzo Gritti good eighth, with the same Guerini then sixth in super combined and Filippo Zamboni tenth in the same test.
For the very strong Italian team, satisfactions also came from the women's sector: double podium in three races, starting from the enterprise of the 38 year-old from Lecco and captain of the team, Antonella Manzoni, a splendid third in giant, behind the Austrian Gerlach ( at 1 "03) and the Czech Abrahamova, second at 41 cents from the winner.
Sunday, instead, he toasted Margherita Mazzoncini's first career podium: the young woman from Belluno got third place in the super-g, surpassed only by Kettnerova and by the usual Gerlach (Cup leader with 280 points after also winning the super combined) , test in which Mazzoncini and Manzoni finished respectively in 4th and 5th place), with Manzoni quinta and Ferrighetto eighth.
The first appointment with the Grass Ski World Cup is scheduled for the weekend of 29-30 June on the Czech Predklasteri slope, where the giant and slalom are scheduled.
