The Germans built the success in the jump segment and then administered it in the base fraction. Silver medal for the Norwegians Jan Schmid and Jarl Magnus Riiber, bronze for the Austrians Bernhard Gruber and Franz-Josef Rehrl.

This morning, in the jump segment played on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck, the German couple Eric Frenzel-Fabian Riessle preceded by 8 "the Japanese brothers Akito and Yoshito Watabe and 22" the Austrians Bernhard Gruber and Franz-Josef Rehrl. On the other hand, the Norwegian Jan Schmid and Jarl Magnus Riiber were disappointed, with 27 "behind the head.
In the fraction of the bottom Frenzel started immediately with his head down, trimming several seconds to Yoshito Watabe. Behind, Norway in a few hundred meters has returned to Austria and, shortly after the second change, these two nations have reached Japan.
In front of the two Germans they continued to push their heads, preventing the pursuing nations from returning to the game for victory. Once the lead was around 30 ", Frenzel and Riessle limited themselves to administering and flew alone to the gold medal.
During the seventh round, Franz-Josef Rehrl went on the attack, knocking out Schmid and Yoshito Watabe. After the change Gruber continued forcing but Riiber managed to close the gap. Austria and Norway therefore fought for the other medals. In the final round Gruber tried to keep up the pace and break away from the Riiber tails, which however in the sprint had no problems to regulate the rival.
Fourth final place for Japan, which preceded Italy on the finish line. Aaron Kostner and Alessandro Pittin, seventh after the jump, on skis have overtaken Poland and France.
