Combined: Jarl Magnus Riiber the new King, the crystal ball returns to Norway after twenty years

The Norwegian class of 1997 won in both Klingenthal races, mathematically closing the fight for the crystal ball.

In the jump segment of Race 1 the best score was made by surprise by Johannes Lamparter, fresh winner of the World Junior Championships in Lahti. The young Austrian, pushed to 139 m, he put behind his compatriot Rehrl of 5 "and the German Faisst of 13". In the middle of the race, Riiber found himself in 4th place, 27 "from the tread. The Norwegian then started the background fraction at full speed and in a few kilometers it was reported on the athletes that preceded him. After having reached the rhythm, however, it has lowered considerably. Geiger, Rydzek, Hirvonen and Herola returned from behind. In the final Riiber proved once again to be a formidable sprinter, beating at the photofinish Vinzenz Geiger. On the other hand, Johannes Rydzek finished third. Ilkka Herola recorded the best time on the skis and after having reassembled a dozen positions closed at the foot of the podium, just ahead of Franz-Josef Rehrl 5th, Fabian Riessle 6th and Eero Hirvonen 7th. Good performance in the fund for Johannes Lamparter who finished 8th at 22 "from the winner. Also in the top 10 are Manuel Faisst 9th and Wilhelm Denifl 10th. Here the complete result! The heavy snowfall and the strong wind that hit Klingenthal on Sunday morning, forced the race direction to cancel the Race 2 segment. For the base fraction it was therefore taken into account the result of the Provisional Competition Round disputed on Friday . The first to get out of the gate was Manuel Faisst, who started off with 8 "on Wilhelm Denifl, 9" on Franz-Josef Rehrl and 15 "on Jarl Magnus Riiber. In a few hundred meters, the first four have come together but no one has taken the initiative. The bland pace therefore allowed several athletes to return. Riessle, Geiger, Herola and Hirvonen have joined the lead group as the kilometers pass. On the last climb Herola launched a decisive attack but Riiber and Riessle did not let themselves be surprised. Everything was therefore decided in the sprint, won once again by the Norwegian, who on the final straight left no way out to Ilkka Herola 2nd and Fabian Riessle 3rd. On the contrary, at the foot of the podium Vinzenz Geiger 4th and Eero Hirvonen 5th, who preceded Franz-Josef Rehrl 6th and Manuel Faisst 7th. The Austrian top ten were Wilhelm Denifl 8th, Martin Fritz 9th and Lukas Klapfer 10th. With 200 points earned in Klingenthal, Jarl Magnus Riiber won the crystal ball four times early, returning to Norway after twenty years of absence. The Norwegian has also achieved the 10 seasonal victories in the World Cup, and from now on can focus exclusively on the world.
