Nordic combined: Jarl Magnus Riiber dictates the law in Ruka's last race and regains the yellow bib

After the disappointment suffered yesterday, with the disqualification that came at the end of the qualification, today the Norwegian champion made up for the interests and left no chance for rival Johannes Lamparter (2nd), winning the second victory of the weekend and the 40th in his career in first level individual competitions. Third place for Jens Luraas Oftebro who defended himself from Weber's comeback in the final.

In the morning, with climatic conditions at the limit, both in terms of temperatures, around -20 °, and windy, the jump segment was canceled after thirty-six athletes. Shortly after the middle of the series the wind became very unpredictable and forced the race direction to a long pause and subsequently to the cancellation, with consequent use of the results of the PCR (provisional competition round) on Thursday. The Austrian Johannes Lamparter opened the cross-country trial, starting with a 6 "margin over his compatriot Mario Seidl and 14" over Jarl Magnus Riiber, regularly at the start after the disqualification of Race 2. They started instead with about thirty second behind the leader were the Japanese Ryota Yamamoto and Jens Luraas Oftebro. As expected, in the first lap on the narrow skis Riiber kept the pace high, picking up Seidl first and Lamparter shortly after. A couple was thus formed in command, consisting of the Norwegian champion and the Austrian champion, already first and second in the opening race on Friday. In the last lap Lamparter tried to force the pace on the first climb, but Riiber, after letting his rival vent, launched the decisive attack on the final ascent, flying towards the second victory of the weekend, the 40th in career in first level individual competitions. Place of honor for Johannes Lamparter, third instead the other norge Jens Luraas Oftebro, for a podium that mirrored that of Friday. Excellent fourth place for yesterday's winner, Terence Weber, who preceded Greiderer, Yamamoto and Faisst.
