The 21-year-old from Oslo won the first career gold in the world, putting behind the Austrian veteran Bernhard Gruber and the Japanese Akito Watabe.

This morning, Riiber landed in the jump segment of Normal Hill in Seefeld at 107 m with over half a meter of wind behind him. This measure allowed him to get the best score, despite rather low stylistic evaluations. The series was predicted to be very balanced, so much so that eight athletes closed less than half a minute from the provisional leader.
In second place was another Norwegian, Espen Bjoernstad, who with a jump of 105 m paid a gap of 6 ", ahead of an ineice Franz-Josef Rehrl (+0: 07) .They remained in contact with the head also the Polish Szczepan Kupczak, Akito Watabe, Terence Weber, Go Yamamoto and Bernhard Gruber, among them, in fifth place, is Samuel Costa, able to land at 99.5 m despite the strong wind behind him and the victim of a ruinous fall, fortunately without serious consequences.
Riiber then approached the fraction of the bottom at all, to keep distance the most immediate pursuers, who in fact have not been able to keep its pace and were taken over the 10 km by more competitive athletes on narrow skis. Watabe and Gruber, started with twenty seconds to recover from the tread, they hunted right from the start. After reaching and passing Bjoernstad and Rehrl, during the third lap they hung up the head of the race.
In the final lap both the 'Austrian and the Japanese have tried to play in advance but in the end everything was resolved in the sprint, won by Jarl Magnus Riiber, who recently made the sprint a house specialty. The Norwegian has thus put on the neck the first world championship gold career, bringing the world title home after eighteen years. Piazza d''honor instead for the veteran Bernhard Gruber, able to overtake in the final the' eternal placed Akito Watabe.
Finished at the foot of the podium Franz-Josef Rehrl 4th and Ilkka Herola 5th, coming back from 24th position and author of the best lap time. Behind the Finn were Espen Bjoernstad 6th, Mario Seidl 7th and the first of the Germans Johannes Rydzek 8th.
Samuel Costa slipped in 12th position, who finished just ahead of Alessandro Pittin. Also in the top thirty are Aaron Kostner 24th and Raffaele Buzzi 27th.
