In the opening round of the 2021/22 Nordic Combined World Cup, the Norwegian champion imposed himself by detachment against the Austrian Johannes Lamparter and his compatriot Jens Luraas Oftebro. Absolutely a day to forget for the Italian team.

All the Italians registered in the race: Samuel Costa, Raffaele Buzzi, Aaron Kostner and Jacopo Bortolas, were in fact disqualified for having continued training beyond the deadline for official training. The Azzurri will still be able to take part in the remaining two Gundersen of the weekend, scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday.
The race saw Jarl Magnus Riiber as the protagonist, who also this season wants to confirm himself as the ruler of the discipline. After winning the jumping segment by a glue, the Norwegian made the difference compared to his opponents in the 5 kilometers of the cross-country trial. At the finish line he preceded by over 20 "Johannes Lamparter (2nd) and Jens Luraas Oftebro (3rd), in comeback from 4th and 6th starting place. Mario Seidl and Manuel Faisst ended up at the foot of the podium, after a '' excellent jumping test that had placed them just behind Riiber. Greiderer 6th, Graabak 7th, Estonian Ilves 8th, Yamamoto 9th and Johannes Rydzek 10th completed the top 10. The German was only 11th Geiger.
