The second round contest staged today in Ruka had as protagonist again Johannes Rydzek, who repeated the success achieved yesterday, although using a different tactic. The Teutonic conquers the 8th career victory and even the 6th Finnish land.

Party with a delay of 1'04 '' with respect to the leader Jarl Magnus Riiber, Rydzek was reported to the Australian Mario Seidl during the first round. The couple then gradually recovered ground on the leading trio formed by Riiber, Akito Watabe and Wilhelm Denifl, until the reunion took place midway through the third round. The German then attacked the fellow adventurers at the final round, taking off and arriving at the finish line in solitude.
Second place went to the Austrian Denifl, that the final climb up a gap and defend the advantage on goal. Akito Watabe rooms on the third step of the podium, successfully defending position in the sprint with Seidl. The Japanese thus able to redeem the trial yesterday, winning the 41st career podium.
Following a Teutonic-row formed by Fabian Rießle (5th), Bjørn Kircheisen (6th) and Vinzenz Geiger (7th), ahead of the Austrian duo Philipp Orter (8th) and David Pommer (9th). So once again a solid performance by the German-speaking nations, until now a step above everyone.
Only 10 ° Riiber, long remained in the leading group, and then come off during the end of the third lap and be taken over by the big group of pursuers at the final round. The Norwegian preceded the increasingly convincing Eero Hirvonen, who gave good confirmations also in the fund segment.
Further back, the other two athletes on the podium yesterday, with Jørgen Graabak 15th and Eric Frenzel 17 °, both authors of a good comeback after an unexceptional jump in complicated conditions. Best performance in the provision for the Austrian Bernhard Flaschberger, which, however, lacks the competitive springboard and thus reached only 39 °.
The general classification is Rydzek command with maximum points (200), followed by Denifl (102) and Akito Watabe (96). The German has therefore already a lead of more than 100 points over the other candidates for the crystal ball, like Frenzel (94), Rießle (77), Graabak (76) and Riiber (26).
Next week the World Cup will travel to Norway in Lillehammer, where three competitions happening. Friday will be held the relay, while Saturday and Sunday are two gundersen program.
