The Italy of the roller ski closes a beautiful 2022 with two other successes, obtained among other things at home in the World Cup finals hosted in Lazio.
The Sprint races staged in the heart of the city of Rieti, in a truly wonderful setting for this discipline, crown Emanuele Becchis and Sabrina Borettaz. The world champion of senior level specialties is truly unbeatable, so much so that today is the sixth consecutive pearl for the blue in international competitions.
Becchis dominated since morning qualifying, and then disintegrated the Norwegian Jostein Olafsen in the final, forced to raise the white flag after halfway through the race. Mocked instead Michele Valerio, author of a good performance, which sees the opportunity of the first podium in the maximum circuit vanish in favor of the Latvian Karl Dremljuga. Out in the quarters Alessio Berlanda and Riccardo Masiero.
In the women's competition, the Norwegian Julie Henriette Arnesen defeated the seasonal dominatrix, the Swedish Linn Soemskar, in a rustic duel which was resolved only in the final stages of the final. The Swede had interrupted the journey of the blue Lisa Bolzan in the semifinal; the adventure of the Treviso - opposed to her sister Anna in the quarterfinals - then continued with the final for third place against the Swedish Jackline Lockner, who prevailed.
The second hurray of the Italian national team came thanks to Sabrina Borettaz in the women's junior category. The two-time world champion in the category was confirmed by winning the final round of the World Cup at the end of a decisive act that saw her opposed to Samantha Krampe, with Anna Maria Ghiddi - already certain of the triumph in the overall cup standings after the mass start on Saturday on Terminillo - to complete the podium.
Anton Grahn managed to secure his success in the junior CdM classification with the victory in the Rieti race, overtaking Jonatan Lindberg in the final. Shortly before, third place of the Latvian Kaparkalejs against a Riccardo Munari protagonist of a sumptuous comeback, thwarted only by the response of the photo finish that forced the blue to settle for fourth place.
