Between Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7, 2027, the cross-country skiing challenge will take place from the Puster Valley resort to the Ampezzo capital. The event will start with the 42 km classic race, while the following day will see the 35 km freestyle race. Reduced entry fees are available until August 31, and all finishers will receive a medal that can be personalized with their name and finishing time.
At the Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo, you leave your mark, on the snow and in history! Less than six months remain until the celebrated cross-country skiing event which, on February 6 and 7, 2027, will reach the special milestone of its 50th anniversary. Every kilometer of the race tells the story of the passion that since 1977 has brought together more than 75,000 cross-country skiers from all over the world, taking turns over the years between the Puster Valley and the Ampezzo Dolomites with enthusiasm and a desire to test themselves. For all competitors, the main goal always remains the same: to cross the finish line and enjoy the unique satisfaction of having made it, with the finisher medal as a symbol of tenacity and determination.
For this 50th edition, the Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo medal will be able to tell an even more personal story: the organizing committee is offering the possibility of personalizing it, at a cost of 10 euros when pre-ordered during online registration, or 15 euros on race day, with the engraving of the competitor's first name, surname and race time. The process will take only a few minutes and will make the memory of this achievement even more special and personal. The initiative was launched in collaboration with WiTiSi, a leading German company in the sector, which has supported the Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo for two years and is a partner of some of the world's biggest international sporting events.
The first weekend of February should therefore be circled in red on the calendar, with two races over two days promising spectacular action on cross-country skis as well as plenty of fun away from the course. The 50th Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo will open on Saturday with the 42 km classic race, followed on Sunday by the 35 km freestyle race, courses that will demand intensity, technique and good endurance from those aiming for the podium.
Competitors will gather for the start at the military airfield in Dobbiaco, passing on Saturday through the Nordic Arena, Lake Dobbiaco, Lake Landro and Cimabanche Pass, from which the final descent toward Ospitale begins, leading to the finish in Cortina d’Ampezzo, at the foot of the Pomagagnon group. On Sunday, after the start, the 35 km race will head directly to the Nordic Arena, following the former railway line to the Ampezzo finish.
With September just around the corner, the "Clever Fox" entry fee is available for only a little longer: until Monday, August 31, it will still be possible to secure a bib using the fee of 75 euros for the classic-technique race, 75 euros for the skating race and 150 euros for the increasingly popular Combined event.
The 2027 Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo is preparing to celebrate a special milestone in the same spirit that has made it a regular fixture for so many cross-country skiing enthusiasts and one of Italy's best-loved long-distance races. The organizing committee is already hard at work, still led by president Herbert Santer, vice-president Igor Gombac and a team of collaborators driven by passion. This year too, the event is part of the international Ski Classics Challengers circuit, dedicated to long-distance specialists, who will compete for important and prestigious points in the 42 km classic-technique race and the 35 km skating race.
