Val di Fiemme comes alive and does it in great style for what will be the highlight of September in Fiemme, or the World Roller Ski Championships that will be held from 16 to 19 September. It will be an appointment not to be missed with the Fiemme World Cup Committee ready to direct this new sporting challenge from the top of its experience. World Championships yes, but also a moment of meeting and fun, with the organization and realization of an “open” competition ... everyone, scheduled for Sunday 19th September.
The occasion will therefore be tempting for those who want to try their hand at a very respectable stage in an event with an international caliber. The race is included in the FISI calendar and will consequently be an object of attraction for the many amateurs and enthusiasts who want to experiment and compete in a competition of this level. The main course is obviously represented by the world titles to be awarded in the four days, with the Interval Start in free technique at Passo Lavazè which will open the dances on Thursday 16 September, followed by the Sprint, still in free technique, in Ziano di Fiemme during a Friday 17 that for many will be the subject ... of superstitious signs.
The Team Sprint, always skating, will delight lovers of team competitions on Saturday 18th, while the Mass Start Cermis Final Climb in classic on Sunday 19th will be the final act of a truly exciting world event. Not only World Championships, however, because the program, in addition to the world tests, will see a FISI "Open & Master" promotional race for Sunday 19: it will be a summer reproduction of the final act of the Tour de Ski that every year, in winter, it ignites the ramps of the Olimpia III slope.
In fact, the iconic Cermis Final Climb will be staged, which leads to the very top of Alpe Cermis and will follow the entire route that will soon be faced by the pros involved in the World Championship. Obviously with roller skis it would be difficult to directly climb the snow-free ski slope and with the grass of the meadows to prevent the rollers from sliding. Thus, with the departure in line from Ziano di Fiemme you will go up along the asphalted road that leads to the intermediate station of Cermis, completing the 15 km route to be tackled in classic technique.
Being a race included in the calendar and recognized by the Italian Winter Sports Federation, at the end of the competition reserved for Open & Masters, the first three of the overall ranking and the top three of the FISI Master categories will be awarded. Registrations open today, Thursday 15 July, and it will be possible to reserve a bib in the amateur race through the Organizing Committee's website, but there is no need to hurry as places are limited to 200 participants, all available until 17 September.
The participation fee is really convenient, given that with 20 euros it will be possible to start the amateur Cermis Final Climb set in a world context. Even in the absence of snow, in the hottest seasons, Fiemme World Cup proves to be at the top of the sport by giving moments of great emotion and fun to fans. A very positive sign for the Organizing Committee of the stages of the Nordic Ski World Cup which highlights its presence also in the world of roller skis, an important stage in view of the winter season. The roller ski show in Val di Fiemme begins to take shape for a September to be experienced by always pushing hard.
