Emanuele Becchis and Sabrina Borettaz confirm themselves as king and queen of the sprint races of the Italian roller ski championships, hosted by Trentino in a weekend that will end today with mass starts on Monte Bondone.
On the Trento city circuit, the athlete from the Alpi Marittime Entracque Ski Club collected the sixth victory of the season in the discipline. A success, that of the reigning specialty world champion, born from the qualifications dominated by the Piedmontese: then the path to the final, in which Becchis ruled the eternal Alessio Berlanda (Team Futura), winner of three world titles and now coach of the youth team of Trentino, while Michele Valerio (Carisolo) went to complete the podium followed by Matthias Morandini (Valdobbiadene), first among the youth.
Only partial surprise in the women's test, with Lisa Bolzan who was unable to win the tricolor title after a season as a dominatrix in the discipline, given that the Orsago athlete had recorded the best time in qualifying, but in the semifinals he she had to surrender to the co-favorite on the eve, Sabrina Borettaz (Amis de Verrayes), then finishing her race in third place.
The reigning junior world champion has thus also put the tricolor gold around her neck, preceding the young Anna Maria Ghiddi (Olimpic Lama), also returning from a dream season with the triumph in the World Cup category at the youth level. Fourth place, however, for Anna Bolzan (Orsago).
Among the Children, it was Davide Piccinini (Levico) who put the seal on the sprint test, ahead of Stefano Epis (Ubi Banca Goggi) and Thomas Maestri (Carisolo). In the women, another victory came for Maria Invernizzi (Nordik Ski Valsassina), who preceded Sofia Marcolini (Olimpic Lama) and Vanessa Cagnati (Val Biois). Among the Pulcini, Marco Combi (Primaluna) won, followed by Filippo Armellin (Orsago) and Lorenzo Briscoli (Made 2 Win Trenteam). In women, Maddalena Pavan climbed to the top step of the podium, in front of Adele Andreolli (Made 2 Win Trenteam) and Lucia Barbieri (Olimpic Lama). Finally, Christian Venturelli (Pavullo Cross Country Skiing) climbed the top step of the podium among the MBM Masters, while Guido Masiero (Valdobbiadene) triumphed among the MCM Masters.
