A success announced on the eve, but rather suffered on the field. The Teutonic took the lead since the first half of the race, thanks to an excellent performance by the less expected protagonist, Ramona Straub, landed at 106 m. Behind Germany remained in contact with Norway, second at 11 lengths and Austria, 3rd with 18 points to be recovered. Among the Scandinavian ranks, both Maren Lundby and Silje Opseth won their respective rotations, but Anna Odine Stroem and Saglien Ingebjoerg Braaten defended themselves more than admirably. Eva Pinkelnig stood out in the Austrian house, able to go to 99.5 with windy conditions that were not at all favorable.
These three nations then played the gold medal in the second series. Once again Ramona Straub was able to make the difference to the direct opponents, landing at 100 m and remedying a not exceptional performance by Juliane Seyfath. In the eighth and final rotation Katharina Althaus performed the best technical gesture, recording the best partial score. Germany has thus conquered the first world championship gold in a women's Team Event.
Honorary square for the landlords of Austria, who closed at 18 lengths from the winners. However, the gap could have been even smaller, as Iraschko-Stolz did not go over 96.5m in the final, losing 10 points from Althaus. Eva Pinkelnig, Chiara Hoelzl, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz managed to overtake the Norwegians four points, who put the bronze medal around their necks.
They ended up at the foot of the podium quite detached Slovenia 4th and Russia 5th. Japan did not go beyond the 6th place, which preceded France 7th and Italy 8th. The blue Elena Runggaldier, Veronica Gianmoena, Giada Tomaselli and Lara Malsiner have reached the 'maximum goal, that is to access the second series. The Czech Republic 9a, the United States 10ths and 11th Kazakhstan were eliminated mid-race.
Tomorrow on the Normal Hill of Seefeld will be awarded the medals of the individual female test. The Norwegian Maren Lundby will have the opportunity to end the German hegemony, which until now has characterized this event.
