Slovene back on the top step of the podium for the first time since the fall in the opening race of Ruka, which many trains had brought from the mental point of view of the athlete. The keeper had given the signs of recovery in the last World Cup competitions and the result of today can not help but give him the confidence lost in late November.
In the first segment of the race Peter Prevc met with extreme weather, with a headwind step in tooth output that has supported and helped to reach 143m, best day measure. But it failed to do telemark, being landed almost flat. Therefore concluded 3rd, behind Kot Wellinger and Andreas, who got wind of the norm.
The Pole has found a jump from the execution flawless, reaching 139m and performing the best kneel upon landing. Just the very high evaluations of judges, obtained by virtue of the latter allowed him to close the lead on the first segment of the race.
In the second heat Prevc has unsheathed a masterful leap from absolute value greater than the first, despite the much lower extent, 134m. In fact he did not have favorable conditions, with significantly decreased headwinds relative to the competition, but this time made a good telemark.
On the other hand, unlike other occasions Kot has not worn the occasion and was reconfirmed in the second jump. Leveraging the strong head wind reached 138m, presenting a good telemark. The compensation, however, allowed to Slovene to catch up in the second half of the race, until the final victory ex aequo.
For Polish is the first success of his career, right on the trampoline which had sanctioned the victory of compatriot Wojciech Fortuna at the 1972 Olympics.
Third place for Stefan Kraft just 2.7 points by the victors, recovering a position with respect to the first half. The Austrian has shown great strength, finding two excellent jumps of 137 and 139 meters, and has shown once again the great ability to carry speed out of the tooth.
The result of today strongly raises its prices optic crystal ball, because it is given to only 100 lengths from Kamil Stoch, only 18 °. The Polish had concluded the first part of the race in 10 th position with a technically good jump, but not outstanding. During the second round, however, he was very unlucky: he found an air pocket that forced him to stop the gesture, very short landing and falling in the standings.
Even Daniel Andre Tande, according to the general, has gained ground in Poland, finishing 7th, but leading a race to fall short of expectations. It met with difficult conditions in both races, but especially in the first jump has not done better, staying on skis too upright.
He stood at the foot of the podium Andreas Wellinger, author of a fabulous first jump with whom he had concluded 2nd, while the latter has paid the price closing at exactly 10 points from third place.
Excellent 5th place for Roman Koudelka, who found two good quality jumps. Czech for the first time this season concluded between the best and it would seem is finding technical stability completely lost in recent months.
Sixth Markus Eisenbichler, excellent in the first half of the race, while manuel fettner 8th convinced more in the second. The top 10 was closed by Jan Ziobro 9th and Piotr Zyla 10th, which preceded Richard Freitag and Simon Ammann in 11th place on a par. For the Swiss it is the best result so far of an extremely disappointing season.
The competition has seen excellent excluded from the second round, among which the hosts Taku Takeuchi (34th) and Noriaki Kasai (35th), Slovenian Jurij Tepes (31 °), Jernej Damjan (47th) and brothers Dinners (44 °) and Domen (50th) Prevc. In particular, the latter has completely wash your jump, landing at 97m. The seventeen year old in those days was completely mistaken all made jumps, showing a great technical decline.
The general classification is still leading Kamil Stoch (1080), followed more closely by Tande (989) and Kraft (980), while it is increasingly detached Domen Prevc (867).
